Kırklareli became the fifth stop of the Archaeology in Local Context Workshops organised by SARAT Project in various Turkish provinces.

The meeting was held at Kırklareli Special Provincial Administration's Centre of Attraction on Thursday, November 7, 2019 with the attendance of approximately 100 people, including cultural heritage experts, representatives of various institutions, civil society professionals and students.

Kırklareli Deputy Governor Tahir Demir delivered the inaugural speech of the event, followed by presentations by Dr. Işılay Gürsu and Özlem Başdoğan of SARAT Project. 

Dr. Işılay Gürsu shared with the participants the results of the Survey on Relations Between Society and Archaeology carried out by SARAT Project, and presided over a debate on these results.

At the meeting, the experts presented examples of fruitful Archaeology in Local Context Workshopprojects from different Turkish cities, and screened SARAT Project's videos on the relation between archaeology and society.
